Suspects in the deadly concert hall attack face life in prison. This is what is known so far.

The first accused in the case of the terrorist attack on Crocus, Dalrzhjon Mirzoyev, has pleaded guilty to all charges, the press service of the Moscow City Court informed the state agency RIA Novosti, and will remain in preventive detention until at least May 22.

State media reported that Mirzoyev is one of two defendants involved in the case of the terrorist attack on the Crocus Concert Hall who face the possibility of life imprisonment.

The suspects, Mirzoyev and Sidkarami Rashabalizoda, appeared in a Moscow court on Sunday to face charges related to the attack.

According to state media RIA Novosti, both individuals are accused of committing a terrorist act. The prosecution requested pretrial detention for the accused.

Friday's attack killed at least 137 people. This is the deadliest attack in Russia in two decades. The attack also comes a week after Putin won his fifth presidential term. A large-scale terrorist attack harms a leader who presents himself as someone capable of ensuring order.

Day of mourning: Russian President Vladimir Putin declared Sunday a national day of mourning for the 137 victims of Friday's attack on a concert hall in Moscow.

Authorities are working to identify the victims: The city's Ministry of Health said, according to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, that procedures to identify those killed in the terrorist attack have already begun. The Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement posted online that 62 bodies have been identified so far, adding that “for the remaining victims, genetic tests are being conducted to determine their identities.” According to the statement, investigations into the crime scene are continuing.

Combating terrorism in Syria and Turkey: Putin held separate calls on Saturday with his Turkish and Syrian counterparts, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad, promising closer cooperation in the fight against terrorism in the wake of the deadly concert attack, according to a Kremlin statement.

Russian Embassy says there were no warnings from the US: The Russian Embassy in Washington said it had not received any warning from the United States about a possible terrorist attack in Moscow, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told Russian news agency RIA Novosti on Sunday.
