Redfish deplores censorship of media that does not follow NATO's narratives

Redfish deplores censorship of media that does not follow NATO’s narratives

In an interview with the newspaper, the director of the multi-award winning digital content creator based in Athens denounced that in Europe and the United States they allocate censorship as if there was a revolving door between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, TikTok, Western governments and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The worst thing, he notes, is that, in the name of combating disinformation, critical media is being suppressed, asserting that it has massively intensified it against Redfish.

Dogru said his content is banned globally and that his Facebook and Instagram accounts are banned in the European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom.

In an exclusive interview with La Jornada, Dogru explained that they founded Redfish in 2017 with journalists from various media outlets.

Our audience are the oppressed people of the world, whose stories are completely ignored or marginalized by the Western media.

We do radical left reporting and independent documentaries from parties, governments or corporations, from the point of view of the oppressed and to show the reality in which the majority of people around the world are forced to live.

He said that in the past five years, this work has been recognized by millions of viewers and followers around the world, especially in Latin America, and has been awarded at film festivals and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

He denounced that on all platforms they falsely described us as “state-controlled Russian media”, which leads to restricting the visibility of our content, saying that we are violating their rules even though we respect them and that is why they have never provided evidence for their accusations.

Despite this, we were able to significantly increase the number of effective followers. Our readers are constantly interacting with our content at a much higher rate than major media platforms such as BBC, Vice News, Deutsche Welle, etc.

He stressed that since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the control measures against him have reached extreme levels. On YouTube we are blocked globally and on Facebook and Instagram our accounts are blocked in the EU, US and UK.

We can only assume that these measures are the result of the policy that has been developed within the European Union over the past five years, in which media critical of Western governments have been suppressed.

He gave two examples: Facebook’s director of global content policy, Mark Smith, was an advisor to the NATO deputy commander. Google’s director of security and public trust, Ben Randa, was also NATO’s strategic planner and information officer.
