AC/DC – Dirty Deeds Done Cheap (1976)
Black bars are used in tabloids when the people in the photo are not identified. Because each of them has something to hide. The album’s title, in Spanish “Dirty Things Done for Cheap,” for example, suggests that the people you see in the photo are criminals, even though they all look fairly normal.

10cc – How dare you (1976)
The 10cc was as eccentric as the guys from Hipgnosis. On the front of the album, a couple can be seen arguing over the phone, separated by a diagonal cut. This has nothing to do with the band, but with the album title: “Don’t Hang Up.” When you open the album, you see this picture, which seems prophetic about the current use of mobile phones.

The image shows only part of the cover. In front of the man is another man watching how the other is sharpening the spear. The sexual connotation is not accidental. The photographer loves men.
