The Turkish President celebrates the centenary of the new state

Erdogan expressed his happiness at reaching the centenary of the republic, recalling the role played by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, “the founder of our republic.”

Moreover, the President emphasized that our nation’s journey from the past to the future, from the Seljuks to the Ottomans and from there to the Turkish Republic, has reached our days, a diplomatic source here said.

The Head of State explained that the Republic of Turkey possesses all the accumulation of state traditions dating back 2,200 years, which is reflected in the sixteen stars of the presidential banner.

The Turkish leader said: We have made historic reforms in all fields, from democracy to economy, from security to justice, from education to health, and from agriculture to foreign policy.

He considered that the presidential system of government made Ghazi Mustafa Kemal’s vision a reality after almost a century.

Kamal stated that “the purpose and goal of the national struggle is to ensure and preserve the complete independence and unconditional sovereignty of the nation,” as stressed by the Head of State, who served as Prime Minister of this nation between March 2003 and August 2014.

The President said: “With the aim of the ‘Century of Turkey’, we are working with all our energy to make the second century of the Republic the century of our country in the world.”

He said that despite all the enemies of our nation and our country, I hope that we will make Turkey’s Century a reality, just as we have been able to achieve our other goals.
