This is the new function and what it can do

Last Tuesday, Apple held its September keynote, in which it introduced what’s new Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, iPhone 15 And iPhone 15 Pro. This event brought many new features to these two production linesfrom titanium to the iPhone to new gestures on the Apple Watch.

The two-finger touch of acceptance – that’s what it’s officially called in Spanish – It’s a new nod to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. It can be repeated in previous models, but thanks to the S9 chip it has become more precise and practical in this year’s smartwatches.

Use your Apple Watch without touching it

The gesture consists of just that: acceptance using two fingers. The idea is that in situations where you cannot use your other hand, you can perform an action With the fingers of the hand you’re wearing your Apple Watch on. Specifically, using your index finger and thumb, which when touched will trigger an action on the watch.

It has no specific function, but, in Apple’s words, Controls the “main function of the button in each application”. This means that if an alarm starts to sound, we can deactivate it. If they contact us, we’ll answer them, and if they have the camera app open, we’ll take a photo.

It is a very useful function for a wide range of cases and situations. It remains to be seen whether the public will end up adopting this functionality or not.
