China-South Korea Environmental and Innovation Cooperation Exhibition

Under the slogan “Openness and cooperation in an environmental way.” For a shared future of science and innovation,” about 700 people from both countries participated in the opening ceremony.

The event promoted trade exchanges between China and South Korea, deepened industrial cooperation, and pushed forward the development of international and national dual circulation.

This year, the exhibition focused on five main industries, such as automobiles, new energy equipment, electronic information, smart manufacturing and modern services.

The Chinese city of Yancheng in the southern province of Jiangsu has successfully held five editions of this event since 2019 with the participation of more than 100,000 participants, a business volume of about seven billion dollars, the signing of 191 industrial projects and a total investment of about 270 billion yuan.

In recent years, Jiangsu has strengthened communication and cooperation with the Republic of Korea and has become one of its largest trade partners with all Korean companies located in this region.

The governor of this province, Xu Kunlin, pointed to the close relations between the two parties, and highlighted the establishment of large factories for South Korean companies such as Kia and Hyundai.

He recalled the words of Chinese President Xi Jinping when he said that the two countries should cooperate more in the field of technology and innovation, which is why he stressed that they will continue to improve the trade and investment environment for the benefit of both peoples.

For his part, Chung Jae-ho, South Korea’s ambassador to China, confirmed that the two countries are in the midst of a green transition.

He stressed, “The governments and companies of both countries must enhance practical cooperation between the two countries in key sectors such as new energies, digitization and digital transformation, and this exhibition is the ideal framework to raise cooperation, investments and trade to a new level.”

The China-South Korea Trade and Investment Expo has become an important platform for exchanges and cooperation over the years, and currently, South Korea’s largest investment in China is concentrated in this province.
